A New Perspective Part II
Evie Fayé remained fully enclosed for hours, confronting the loneliness of her cocoon with patience, discipline, and a quiet determination. Locked within its smooth, restrictive surface and balanced on tiptoes, she entered a state where time seemed to stretch and lose its familiar rhythm.
Every movement had to be considered; every breath became part of the performance. Breathing through the nose tubes, she worked to remain calm and present, resisting the pressure to lose focus during the second part of this artistic challenge. The physical limits of the shell became inseparable from the emotional experience within it. What appeared composed and polished from the outside held unseen tension: a private struggle shaped by isolation, endurance, and control.
As her orientation gradually faded, Evie found her way to the lift outside Xay One. The transition introduced a sudden shift: different light, temperature, sound, and atmosphere. For a moment, the outside offered a new perspective, but the journey led her back inside Xay One, returning her to the same enclosed world with a changed awareness.
The cocoon becomes both protection and confinement. Its reflective black surface conceals the difficulty beneath it, creating a contrast between the sculptural silhouette and the reality of the person within. It becomes a vessel for vulnerability, concentration, and resolve.
The work explores how calm can exist alongside discomfort, and how beauty can carry the weight of endurance. Evie Fayé’s stillness is not passive; it is an act of focus, a deliberate choice to remain present inside an experience that continuously challenges the body and mind.
